Academies

Academies Overview
A high school career academy is a program that blends college prep academics with career and technical training., creating smaller school communities within our larger campus that better prepare students for whatever path their future holds. Whether that path includes college, trade school, or direct entry into high-skill jobs, academies keeping college options open while building real-world skills and certifications. Students are able to participate in a more personalized education that keeps them from being lost in the size of a school of our size due to highly dedicated teachers in each academy.
Students who participate in an academy receive a more personalized education thanks to the team of teachers who work together to meet the needs of the student, both as a learner and as a young adult. Students who complete an approved academy program may be eligible to receive the Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award, which pays for 75% of the tuition and fees at a Florida public institution of higher learning. They could also be eligible for Florida Bright Futures that pays for 100% of the tuition at a Florida public university depending upon their core academic path and test scores. For more information about these programs, please visit www.floridabrightfutures.gov.
All academies require students to apply via Parent Portal. Applications are open from December 11, 2025 to January 30, 2026.
Special Note: All Academy students are eligible to participate in extracurricular activities offered at Spruce Creek High School , such as athletics and clubs, and academic advancement courses such as IB, AP, and Dual Enrollment, thus further satisfying the growing desire to be educated and well-rounded individuals.
