We would like to congratulate the following seniors who are Semi-Finalists in the National Merit Scholarship competition. These individuals earned this recognition by their fantastic score on the PSAT last October. Nationwide, only about 16,000 high school seniors qualify as semifinalists: Fernando Cunah, Emmet Harrington, Nakita Patel, Zoe Volenec, and Ernie Britt (Achievement Award semi-finalist). In addition, several seniors were also identified as Commended Scholars for their PSAT score: Cory Breaux, McKenzie Brothers, Jacob Cole, Tyler Hunnefeld, Nathan Klemm, Ashish Lalani, Austin Levenson, Jessica Matthews, Eric Rose, Samantha Sterthaus, Thomas Suddard, Nicole Tropea, Alan Wong, and Noah Zimmerman. Congratulations to all of these outstanding seniors.

Congratulations to the Lady Hawks Golf Team who remains unbeaten after defeating Deland and University with scores of 185-256-264, as well as powerhouse Lake Mary 166-168. This puts the Lady Hawks record at 16-0 this season, and moves the winning streak to 38-0!  The girls put forth a great team effort, led all week by Victoria Pitenis and Mackenzie Hickox to hit the lowest score in the last seven years! 

The Hawks Swimming team hosted Seabreeze and Atlantic in a Tri-Meet at the Port Orange YMCA. The Hawks Mens and Womens teams each scored convincing victories against both opponents. For the girls, winners included Bethany Keenan, McKenna Harris, Kendal Casey, Hannah Campbell, McKenzie Brothers, Alexis Burk, Kelly Derr, and Kelsey Hoffman. For the Boys, winners included Christian Tullius, Will Harris, Raaef Azer, Johnny Rivera, John Nunnelley, Donovan Ward, Richard Devins, Tommy Kenyon, Joshua Vesely and Joey Sedacca.

Congratulations to the Lady Hawks Junior Varsity Volleyball team for their wins against New Smyrna and Lake Brantley!

The Hawks Men's and Women's swim teams hosted Mainland and Fleming Island (Jacksonville) in a Tri-Meet at the Port Orange Y. Both Hawks teams won by wide margins. Individual event winners included Kendal Casey, McKenna Harris, Kelsey Hoffman, Kylie Klotzbach, Will Harris, John Nunnelly, Johnny Rivera, and Ryan Hilgers.  Adding to the Hawks' wins on relays were Bethany Keenan, Berkley Littlejohn, Alexis Burk, Donovan Ward, and Joey Sedacca.

Your Spruce Creek hawk boys bowling team pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year by demolishing the Buccaneers of Mainland by a score of 5-2, helping to improve their record to 6-2. Bowling high games were Justin Deal 233, Logan Jones 223, Jacob Gerardi 213 and Andres Ruiz 200. Your hawk girls bowling team pulled off a big win against Mainland, beating them with a score of 5-2, improving their record to 5-3. Bowling high games were Haylee Boyle 215, Breanna Kinnett 182 and Sydney Jones 180.

Congratulations to our boys golf team for defeating Deland 151-158. Ethan Wagner was a medalist, shooting a two under par 34.

Congratulations to the boys' and girls' cross country teams! They ran at the very hot and muggy Titan Trail Cross Country 5K, and once again all teams came home with a first place win.  The girls' varsity team was led by Jocelyn Adona with a time of 20:44, followed by Kaitlyn Kelly and Alycia Loriz. eight out of the first ten runners in were from Spruce Creek. The boys' varsity team was led by Michael Fabian and Kyler Kathman, in second and third place respectively. They also had an amazing finish, placing 5 runners in the top 8.  Alex Bramlage and Stevie Leone were only the beginning of an amazing string of JV runners who led the JV girls to a perfect score of 15 in their race as nine Creek runners came in before anyone else saw a different uniform! Finally, in the most oppressive heat, sophomores Garek Church and Anthony Greggo led the JV boys to one last victory for the day. Just like the girls' varsity, the boys had 8 runners in the top ten of the race.  

At the annual Record Breaker Swim meet the Hawks hosted 7 other Central Florida teams including formidable opposition from Dr. Phillips and Titusville. In a close competition, the girls beat Dr. Phillips for first place by a mere 10 points, 578-568, thanks to strong swims by  Kendal Casey, McKenna Harris, Kylie Klotzbach, Kelsy Hoffman, Kelly Derr, Mckenzie Brothers, Alexis Burk and Berkeley Littlejohn. On the Boys side, the Hawks also beat Dr. Phillips for 1st place 578 - 568.  The Boys also swept all 3 Relays thanks to great swims by Donovan Ward, Will Harris, Christian Tullius, Richard Devins, John Nunnelly, Johnny Rivera, and Joey Sedacca. Individual winners included: Kendal Casey, McKenna Harris, Bethany Keenan, Will Harris, and Johnny Rivera.

The Lady Hawks Golf team remains unbeaten, winning the Flagler Volusia County Invitational by 9 strokes over Matanzas.  Leading the way for the Hawks were Victoria Pitenis, Abby Coates and MacKenzie Hickox

The Hawks Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams hosted the Flagler-Palm Coast Bulldogs at the Port Orange YMCA. The Women increased their overall record to 4-0, beating the Bulldogs 175-103.  Individual event winners included Hannah Campbell, Kelsey Hoffman, and Kelly Derr. Kendal Casey and Kylie Klotzbach were both double winners. The Men also increased their season record to 4-0, beating fpc 190-82.  Individual event winners for the Men included John Nunnelly, Ryan Hilgers, and Joey Sedacca.  Johnny Rivera and Donovan Ward were each double event winners. Adding to Creek's men’s and Women's Winning Relays were the Mckenzie Brothers, Richard Devins, Alexis Burk, Morgan Schimp, and Berkely Littlejohn

Congratulations to those elected to Freshman Student Government Representative positions!  They are: Katarina Figueroa, Michelle He, Jackie Jagger, Yusra Jumani, Daisy Layman, Marena Lucero, Tyler Sheridan, Sophie Watret, and Adam Zirkelbach.

The boys' and girls' cross country teams have brought home some new trophies for the trophy case! The girls' varsity team had a second place finish in the Deland Invitational this Saturday. They were led by Tori Ehrhardt and Kaitlyn Kelly in a close race with Hagerty High School. The boys' varsity team was led by Kyler Kathman with a time of 16:51 and Michael Fabian with a time of 16:56 to an amazing first place finish. Alycia Loriz must think cross country is easy as she crossed the finish line a minute ahead of everyone else in the girls' JV race in her first cross country competition. Monet Bartell and the rest of the JV team led the girls to a perfect score as they also brought back a first place trophy. Skyler Reese and Kevin Keyes crossed the finish line first and second in the boys' JV race as they and the rest of the boys won an impressive victory over the rest of the field.  

Congratulations to the lady hawks JV and Varsity Volleyball teams for their wins against Pine Ridge.  Both teams showed a great team effort.!  

The Hawks Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams swam at the Lake Brantley High School "Patriot" Invitational Swim Meet this past Saturday.  The Hawk's were tested against 24 of the best teams in Central Florida. The Women finished 3rd overall with strong individual swims by Alexis Burke, Kendal Casey, McKenna Harris, Kelsey Hoffman, and Kylie Klotzbach.  On the Men's side, the Hawks were 4th overall with strong individual swims by Richard Devins, Will Harris, John Nunnelly, Johnny Rivera, Joey Sedacca, Christian Tullius, and Donovan Ward. Overall winners included Kendal Casey and McKenna Harris. Hawks Divers - Dan Wigley, Noah Zimmerman, and Kaylee Anderson also turned in strong performances.

The Girls Golf team upped  their winnig streak to 34 consecutive victories in the regular season  (11-0 this season) with wins over New Smyrna Beach and Flagler Palm Coast.  Leading the way in both matches were Victoria Pitenis, Mackenzie Hickox, Brighton Campbell, Grace Weite, Abby Coates and Natassia Sendra

Led by double winners Kendal Casey, McKenna Harris, Kelsey Hoffman, and Kylie Klotzbach, the girls swim team swept all events in the competition against New Smyrna Beach and Father Lopez.  With help from Kelly Derr, Cara Campbell, and Hannah Campbell, the girls finished 1-2-3 in half of the events.  The boys team was equally successful, winning all events and having double victories by Will Harris, John Nunnelley, and Johnny Rivera who returns to Creek after a summer in Guam.  Scoring single victories were Ryan Hilgers, Christian Tullius, and Donovan Ward.  Backing up the winners and helping the Hawks place 1-2-3 in more than half the events were Raaef Azer, Richard Devins, Sam Parsons, and Joey Sedacca.  Both girls and boys teams are undefeated for the season. 

Your Creek boys bowling team came from behind, down by 1 game, to beat Seabreeze 4 -3. Bowling high games were Justin Deal 207, Andres Ruiz 214, and Logan Jones 277. They improved to a record of 3-1. Your Creek girls bowling team also improved to a record of 3-1, by stomping the Sandcrabs 7-0, with the help of newcomer Nidhi Patel who bowled her highest game ever of 77. Other game highs were by Sydney Jones 203, and Breanna Kinnett 231.

Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team for their win against seminole 3 games to zero.  it was a great team effort. Great job lady hawks!

Led by freshman Hannah Campbell and upperclassmen Kelsey Hoffman and Alexis Burk, the Creek girls won 10 out of 11 events in the swim meet with DeLand.  The score was Creek 178 over DeLand’s 101.  The Creek girls were 5-Star Champions in 2010 and finished 2nd at the State meet. The Creek boys also swam to victory in 10 out of 11 events.  Raaef Azer won the 200 freestyle and swam on two winning relays.  Josh Vesely broke into the winning ranks by swimming on the winning 200 freestyle relay.  The boys had a balanced attack, with 10 Hawks winning individual events or relay events.  The final score had Creek winning 155-124. 

Congratulations to the Cross Country Team as they return from the Volunteer Classic in Knoxville Tennessee with 3 top-three finishes! The girls varsity team was led by Kaitlyn Kelly in 5th place and Tori Ehrhardt in 14th place. The team placed third overall in the meet. Megan Zimmer put on an amazing performance in her first cross country meet winning the girls' JV race with a time of 22:31! Freshman Anna Kelly finished in ninth place overall to help propel the team to a second place finish. On the boys' side, the junior varsity team was led by James Armor and Kevin Keyes and finished in seventh and ninth place to help their team bring home second place, while Kyler Kathman, with a time on 17:11, and Andrew Carpenter, with a time of 17:24 led the varsity team to a great finish.

The cross country team sends out a great big “thank you” to Mrs. Jenny Enslin, psychology teacher, for her support and assistance in Tennessee.

Congratulations to our football hawks who beat University High with an incredible score of 31 – 2! It was a great team effort!

Your Spruce Creek Boys Bowling Team bowled over FPC by a score of 5 - 2. A great effort was made by the entire team with high games by Michael Barnack 198 and Jacob Gerardi 195. The Girls Team pulled off an amazing win by defeating FPC 5 -2 with only 3 bowlers! Haylee Boyle had a high game of 222.
