Graduated from Spruce Creek in 2000. Rushed for 970 yds and scored 9 TDs his junior year.   As a Senior, he set the all time Spruce Creek single season rushing record with 1664 yds and 26 TDs.  (The record was subsequently broke by Jonate' Govan in 2004).  He was named to the Super-Prep All American Team as a Senior. 

Played Running back at Butler County Community College (Kansas). As a Freshman, at Butler he rushed for 648 yds in 8 games and scored 3 TDs.  His longest run (60 yds) was a team high.  He caught 8 passes for 88 yds,  had two kick off returns for 28 yds, scored 24 points and averaged 95.3 all purpose yds per game.

As a sophomore, at Butler he rushed for 1010 yds. He scored 12 TDs (10 rushing, 2 passing). He caught 11 passes for 197 yds. Named by jcfootball.com as the 55 best player in junior college football and 5th best running back.  Had 168 yds on 29 carries against Coffeyville JC;  141 yds against Highland; 135 yds against Independence; 123 against Dodge City and 101 against Fort Scott.

He transferred to Washington State University. As a junior, played in 13 games, started 5.  He as Pac-10 Honorable Mention.  He rushed for 180 yds against Oregon.  Had an 80 yd TD run against UCLA.  Had 123 yds against MSU, scored two times and had three receptions.  Scored two TDs against ASU.  Ran for 92 yds against USC including a 75 yd. TD.  Overall, had 150 carries for 829 yds and 9 TDs.  Had 14 pass receptions for 127 yds and 1 TD.  Was the number 5 rusher in the Pac10 in 2002.

In his Senior season at Washington State, Jermaine played in 11 games.  Rushed 82 times for 285 yds and 4 TDs.  He also caught 9 passes for 59 yds.

Spent some time with the New York Giants of the NFL in 2004.
