A three-year starter who played in nine games his senior year with a broken arm and still had 33 tackles, six TFL and two sacks...Ian was named to the All-Area and All-Conference teams.  He played only one game his junior year  due to broken ankle. Birthdate: October 29, 1986 in Daytona Beach, Fla.. Ian is the son of Theodore and Vickie Griffin.

Signed with Southern Illinois University. (#29  Safety). 

2005: Listed on the Saluki roster a Safety at 6-2, 190 lbs.. (#29). Ian made 3 solo tackles vs Union (Ky).  Southern Illinois was the 2005 Gateway Conference Champions. The Salukis finished the season 9-4, losing to Appalachian State in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Division 1AA championship playoffs. Southern Illinois finished ranked #7 in NCAA Division 1AA.
