Garrick Clig was born November 6, 1984, the son of Tom and Jayne Clig.  He graduated from Spruce Creek in 2003 where he had over a 3.0 cumulative GPA. 

He played offensive guard, offensive tackle and defensive tackle.  He letttered all four years.  In his senior year, he had 27 tackles.  He was a second team All State for Class 5A, first team All-Five Star Conference and All-District.

In his junior year, he started all 10 games at offensive tackle and while playing on defense recorded 34 tackles.

Garrick was named to the All Area First Team Offense by the Daytona Beach News Journal. Played guard and tackle his senior year.  Also got 27 tackles on defense.

The Orlando Sentinel rated Garrick the 4th best offensive line prospect in Central Florida.  Rivals.com rated him the 53rd best offensive guard in the nation.

Garrick was also a member of the Spruce Creek's State Champion Weight Lifting team.

Recruited by Florida, University of Central Fla, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, Garrick enrolled in the college of letters and sciences at the University of Maryland.
