There are 231 NCAA Division III football teams. 

Division III athletics features student-athletes who receive no financial aid related to their athletic ability and athletic departments are staffed and funded like any other department in the university. 

There are no Division III football teams in Florida.

Division III football teams in the southeast include: 

Louisiana: Louisiana College
Mississippi: Mississippi College, Milsaps  College, 
North Carolina: Chowan University, Guilford College, Greensboro College, North Carolina Wesleyan College, Methodist College.
Alabama: Huntingdon College, 
Virginia: Bridgewater College, Hampden-Sydney College, Emory & Henry College, Randolph-Macon College, Washington & Lee University, Averett University, Christopher Newport University, Ferum College, Shenandoah University. 
Tennessee: Rhodes College, Maryville College.
Missouri: Westminster College, Washington University.
West Virginia: Bethany College 
Kentucky: Thomas More College, Centre College.
