| Coach Zito became the
fourteenth Head Football Coach at Spruce Creek a few weeks before the 2002
season. He graduated from Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte
Springs where he played quarterback. He graduated from Newberry
College in South Carolina where he also played football. He served
as an assistant coach at Lake Brantley and Deltona High Schools.
In 2003, the Hawks were district runner-up and went to the playoffs for the
4th time in school history. In 2004, the Hawks
were district runner-up again and went to the playoffs for the
5th time in school history advancing to the Regional Finals (third round
of the State Playoffs) for the first time in school history. Coach
Zito leads all previous Creek Coaches with the most playoff wins (2) at
Creek. Coach Zito resigned in February 2006 to take a job at Etowah High School in Woodstock, Georgia. |
