Homecoming 2011: Lost in Paradise!

Homecoming 2011: Lost in Paradise

Homecoming Week:
October 17 - 22

Homecoming Dress-Up Days Dress Code:
Please note: Dress-up and spirit days are designed to enhance the Homecoming experience. Students are urged to participate, but are reminded not to abuse the Homecoming spirit through flagrant violations of the district’s dress code. Make-up that makes a student unrecognizable (masks, etc) or make-up that depicts blood or injuries is not allowed. Dress appropriately - the Volusia county dress code will be enforced throughout the week.

Monday (10/17)- Ever wanted a twin, triplets, quintuplets, or even octuplets? Well you’re in luck, because it’s time for Spruce Creek’s annual TWIN DAY! Get creative and enjoy having your own identical extra siblings for the day!

Tuesday (10/18)- It’s time for another Creek tradition with our Technicolor-tastic, Halloween costume-recycling, copyright-infringing CHARACTER DAY! Revisit your lost youth by dressing up as Spongebob or Mickey Mouse! Or take it one step further and dress up as a superhero or a talking animal!

Wednesday (10/19)- Have you ever felt like you belonged in another time or era? Well put aside your crippling loneliness and dress up for DECADES DAY! Channel the 1960’s with some flower-power tie-dye! Be a suave millionaire business mogul from the 1920’s! Cut off circulation in your legs with some 1980’s spandex! For once those old clothes from the 70’s your parents refuse to throw away are good for something!

Thursday (10/20)- Pull that orange and black out of your closet, and get ready to look like a goth John Boehner because it’s time for Spruce Creek’s annual SPIRIT DAY! Show your school pride decked out in your Hawk spirit gear! Why not come to school dressed as a hawk? (Besides the fact that it’s very hot/unpleasant/feathery and, well, it’s ILLEGAL … follow the dress code folks!) Get pumped for the 7th period pep rally in the gym! Let’s go Hawks!
Afterwards, show your pride by cheering on your favorite Hawk at the Homecoming game 7pm at NSB Stadium? Watch the Hawks TRAMPLE the Fighting Mustangs of Mandarin High! Come see the Homecoming King & Queen announced at halftime!

Friday (10/21)- Break out those fake tanning oils, tattered rags and message-filled bottles, because it’s time for our annual THEME DAY! You’ve been shipwrecked on a deserted tropical island… Be Gilligan! A dress-code-legal Hula Girl! A Leopard! Or even a 15th century sailor! Also, this day one of our oldest homecoming traditions, the Homecoming Carnival! Food in the main atrium.  Activities, performances, and most of all, fun in the freshman atrium!

A message from the Spruce Creek High School administration:
This Homecoming Dance is a special event.  We hope that it will provide you with wonderful and happy memories.  Let us remind you that, like all school events, the homecoming dance is a drug and alcohol free event.  Please select carefully the people with whom you choose to ride to and from the homecoming dance.  Alcohol and/or drugs in the vehicle, consumed prior to the event, and/or brought into the dance are not only illegal and dangerous, but will result in severe penalties for the driver and all passengers – regardless of individual participation. Please know that law enforcement will be present at the dance.
