- ONLINE SERVICES
- “Internet Access Policy & Computer Code of Conduct” signed by student and parent indicating the student’s understanding of the District’s policies and parent's permission for students to access the Internet must be on file in the media center. ID card is “notched” verifying parent permission form is on file.

- ORIENTATION to media services, policies, and procedures is given to freshmen via English classes. Upperclassmen are instructed and reviewed upon teacher requests.
- AUDIOVISUAL MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, AND LAPTOPS are available for student use in the media center and the classroom. These items may be checked out for special projects only, i.e. science fair and with permission from an administrator.
- The MEDIA CENTER COMPUTER LAB houses computers for research, word processing, Reading Counts testing, and the internet. Games and chat sites are strictly prohibited!
- READING COUNTS is a computerized reading “incentive” program used to motivate students to read for enjoyment or information. Students are sent to the media center to be "efficiently" tested on books that have been read independently. Immediate feedback is provided to classroom teachers who use the program as an incentive for extra credit.
- INTERLIBRARY LOANS are available via Sunlink for the purpose of sharing resources and obtaining school media materials not available in our media center.
- Special Observances and Thematic Events are observed in the
media center. Special Activities and contests are held to commemorate

- SUBJECT BIBLIOGRAPHIES are generated via Circulation Plus, media’s circulation management system.
- SPRUCE CREEK A.M. (SCAM) is a news and information television program produced by TVP II students. This program is usually shown every other Friday over the school’s closed circuit television system on channel
- LAMINATION SERVICES are available for items of educational value. Materials are laminated twice a week, usually on Monday and Thursday. Departments must purchase their own laminating plastic (See media specialist for details and pricing).
- BOOKMARKS are available free-of-charge.
- NETWORKING PRINTING is available for students printing from computers in the media lab for a nominal cost of .05 cents per page. Teachers may print from any networked computer in the school to the HP LaserJet 5SiMX and must supply their own paper.
- PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT, ie. Poster Maker and the Ellison Lettering Machine, is available in the media center. Patrons are requested to furnish their own supplies.
- DBCC LIBRARY CARDS are available to students upon requests. School ID and social security number are needed when checking out materials. DBCC Library http://catalog.linccweb.org and Volusia County Public Library www.vcpl.lib.fl.us can be accessed from any computer location.
- MINI BOOK FAIRS are held 5-6 times a year in the media center. Top quality books and miscellaneous educational items and gifts may be purchased from vendors at 40-70% discount resulting in the earnings of free books for the media center.

Equipment Ordering and Maintenance - INSERVICE for faculty is offered as needed and includes, but is not limited to, review and orientation of technology and software programs.
- The MEDIA CENTER AND CLASSROOM PLANNING WORKSHEET aids the media specialist and the teacher in planning effectively and cooperatively for instruction.
- The MEDIA ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MAC) is an active and positive group of dedicated teachers, parents, students, and the principal or administrative designee who formulate goals to meet the needs of the media program, make recommendations to improve media services, and assist in evaluating the media program.
