As Principal of Spruce Creek High School, Tim Egnor is the instructional leader of a comprehensive high school
with more than 2700 students. His highest priority is to maintain academic focus and create an outstanding learning
environment. Mr. Egnor manages the overall school operations and leads the administrative staff.
Mr. Egnor earned both his graduate and master’s degrees from Stetson University. He is certified
in social studies, supervision and earned a master’s degree in teaching history. Mr. Egnor holds a principal’s
certification and has taught individual courses at several local colleges. For five years, Mr. Egnor worked at the
district level; first as the K-12 Social Studies Specialist and later as the Coordinator of High School Services.
He has held several positions related to the International Baccalaureate Organization, chief among them being a member
of the Board of Directors for North America. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Florida State Music Association.
Mr. Egnor moved to Florida from West Virginia in 1975, and is a graduate of New Smyrna Beach high school.
He is married to Becky Egnor and they have three children, Erin, Ian and Erica.

Vincent Elliott
Asst. Principal
Vince Elliott manages the Student Services at Spruce Creek High School, working with student conduct management. He counsels students on behavioral issues and works to help students strengthen their ability to handle conflict with others. Mr. Elliott serves as Creek facilities coordinator. He is responsible for construction and remodeling projects in addition to custodial services.
Mr. Elliot is a Navy Veteran. Upon completion of military service, Mr. Elliott returned to college earning an associate of science degree from Seminole Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bethune Cookman College, and a Master of Science Degree from Nova University.
Mr. Elliott began his educational career at Holly Hill Junior High School. He served as head football and basketball coach as well as assistant football and track coach for 14 years. Mr. Elliott transferred to Mainland High School as Dean of Students, Assistant Football and Basketball Coach (1990-92) after termination of junior high athletics. He also served as Administrative Assistant at DeLand High School before transferring to Spruce High in 1994 as an Assistant Principal.

Joseph Golinski
10th Grade Administrator (TOA)
Mr. Golinski coordinates student discipline for the 10th Grade. Mr. Golinski is also the head baseball coach.
Mr. Golinski began his career in education with the Volusia County School district in 2001 as a teacher at Seabreeze High School. He joined the Spruce Creek High faculty and coaching staff in 2004 as a physical education teacher and baseball coach.
Mr. Golinski is a 1996 graduate of Embry Riddle University, where he earned his B.S. Degree in Aerospace Studies. He earned his Masters of Science in Physical Education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1998. Mr. Golinski is a graduate of New Smyrna Beach High School. He is married to Amy Golinski and they have two children, Braden and Blair.

Scott Hallett
9th Grade Administrator (TOA)
Mr. Hallett is the 9th Grade Center Administrator. His responsibilities include 9th grade student supervision and discipline, working with all 9th grade teachers, and overseeing the daily operations of the 9th Grade Center in general, including the Media Center. His duties also include administering the Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) program, Youth Motivators Mentoring, and 5-Star Schools Award for Spruce Creek.
This is Mr. Hallett’s seventh year at Spruce Creek High School, and his first as the 9th Grade Center Administrator. He earned his B.A. in Secondary Education Social Science from Southeastern University and is currently working on his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.
Mr. Hallett moved to Florida from Connecticut in 1998. He is married to Bonnie Hallett and they have two children Marissa and Scotty. His hobbies include surfing, skating, muscle cars, motorcycles and hanging out with his family.

Paul Nehrig
Asst. Principal
Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instructional Services. He is responsible for guidance services, educational programs, professional development, achievement data analysis and reporting, instructional personnel, instructional materials, academic budgeting, technology programs, academic leadership teams, and school-wide testing. His duties also include administering the Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) program, Business Partners and 5-Star Schools Award for Spruce Creek.
This is Mr. Nehrig’s fourth year at Spruce Creek High School. He earned his B.A. in English and M.A. in English Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He holds his Ed. S. in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Nehrig began his career in education in 1993 at New Smyrna Beach Middle School, teaching 8th grade reading, 7th grade language arts, and 6th – 8th grade journalism. He also taught 6th and 7th graders at Deltona Middle School, and 7th graders at Heritage Middle School from its opening in 1999 until coming to SCHS in 2004. Mr. Nehrig is certified in English 6-12 and Educational Leadership. His wife is a teacher for Volusia County Schools.

Joe Piggotte
Asst. Principal
Joe Piggotte coordinates student discipline for the Dean's Office and manages substitute teachers. He ensures that classrooms are filled when teachers are absent. In addition, he supervises campus and after-school activities.
Mr. Piggotte began teaching at Spruce Creek High School in 1979; he also coached basketball. He went on to teach math and physical education at Seabreeze High School until 1990. He has served as an assistant principal from 1991 to the present at Deltona, New Smyrna Beach, and Seabreeze High Schools. Spruce Creek has been his home since 2003. Mr. Piggotte graduated from Stetson University with a B.S. Degree, and he holds an M.S. Degree from Nova University in administration and supervision.

Eric Polite
Assistant Principal
Mr. Polite is responsible for student discipline in the Dean's Office, and is also the contact person for bus/transportation issues.
Mr. Polite began his career in education in with the Volusia County School district in 1998 as a Math/Science teacher at Riverview Learning Center. He joined the Spruce Creek High faculty and coaching staff in 2002 as an in- school suspension teacher and basketball coach.
Mr. Polite is a 1995 graduate of the University of Mobile, where he earned his B.S. Degree in Sociology. He earned his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
His wife is a Guidance Counselor for Volusia County Schools and they reside locally with their two children Aleah and Eric Jr.

Valentine Presley Ross
Asst. Principal
Valentine Ross manages the SCHS Exceptional Student Education program, coordinates the beginning teacher program, supervises interns, handles student discipline, and provides campus and activity supervision.
Ms. Ross has been an employee of Volusia County Schools for 25 years. She started her career at Mainland Junior High School, and has taught at Bonner Elementary and Holly Hill Junior High School. Ms. Ross was an assistant principal at Taylor Middle-High School, the Alternative Education center, and Tomoka Elementary School. She has been in her position at Spruce Creek High School for five years. She graduated from Bethune-Cookman College with a B.A. degree in History and Sociology. Mrs. Ross has a master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Nova University and has done further studies at Nova in Reading.
Ms. Ross has two daughters and one grandson. Her grandson is a recent IB Summa Cum Laude graduate of SCHS and is majoring in pharmacy at Florida A&M University. She is a member of the Volusia Association of School Administrator, Phi Delta Kappa, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the Bethune-Cookman College Alumni Association, the National Council of Negro Women, the Volusia County Schools Teacher of the Year Selection Committee, the Bethune-Cookman Council on Education, The Volusia County Teacher Induction Program Review Committee and the Martin Luther King Celebration Committee.
Her hobbies include reading, football, watching westerns, shopping and spending time with her grandson.

Joy Swebilius
Assistant Principal
Mrs. Joy Swebilius serves as the Assistant Principal for Data Processing, a role which includes building the master schedule and facilitating the placement of teachers and students in classes. Part of her role includes handling grades and student data. Mrs. Swebilius is also responsible for school improvement planning and school-community public relations. She serves on the SCHS School Advisory Council. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mrs. Swebilius taught at Spruce Creek High School for 10 years.
Mrs. Swebilius has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Central Florida, and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership at the Nova Southeastern University. She is a currently pursuing her doctorate degree.
Mrs. Swebilius is married to David Swebilius, a teacher at Creekside Middle School and they have two sons. David Swebilius II (Creek graduate 2000) teaches science at Hinson Middle School and Austin Swebilius is a junior at Creek. Mrs. Swebilius enjoys cooking, reading non-fiction, camping, and playing with her Chocolate Lab “Hershey”. She is also active in her church, Coquina Presbyterian of Ormond Beach.
