About Us

Spruce Creek is a modern comprehensive high school. Founded in 1975, the school is centrally located in the midst of a family neighborhood, yet is also near an interstate. Due to its location and facilities, the school is often in demand as an ideal conference or convention site. Additionally, community education classes are conducted in the evenings and are open to any interested party.

The beautifully landscaped campus includes a main building, twenty-eight portable classrooms, an extensive sports area, a sports stadium, agriculture facility and several parking and recreational areas. An environmental park which will serve as a living laboratory is also being developed on the property. While not on campus, the school is a partner with the City of Port Orange in the construction of a Fine Arts Gallery, the Art Haus.

Spruce Creek High is more than a wonderful facility. The school has many TRADITIONS of EXCELLENCE of which the entire school community can be proud. A few of these traditions include: an outstanding Homecoming Carnival; the winner of the many All-Sports Trophy; Florida State Weight Lifting Champions fourteen times; a chorus, band and drama troupe that consistently earn top honors from district, state and international recognition, and the many students who earned the status as a National Blue Ribbon School and National Merit Finalists. Spruce Creek also earned status as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 1993. Our most recent accomplishments are available online.

From the smallest child in our Wee Hawk Pre-School, through the large enrollment in several applied academic programs to our more than 500 students in the academically rigorous International Baccalaureate Program, all students are able to find an appropriate and challenging educational program.

The student is the center of all we do at the Spruce Creek. From our variety of academic programsto athleticsand other co-curricular and extra curricular activities, everything is designed to meet diverse student needs.
