 The Superintendent's Diploma of Distinction Program is designed to honor students who have successfully completed a series of rigorous Advanced Placement courses and who are well prepared for their college experience.
The College Board's Advanced Placement Program (AP) is a challenging academic program designed to enable motivated students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. In many cases, students are able to earn college credit for their work based on the demonstration of mastery on a qualifying AP examination.
AP courses are available in a wide variety of subject areas. Each course is developed by a committee of college faculty and AP teachers and covers the breadth of information, skills, and assignments found in the corresponding college course.
The AP program was established by The College Board in 1955 and is considered a standard of excellence in the United States. Because students who participate in the AP program are highly successful in college, AP courses are recognized by colleges and universities throughout the country.
